    Hi Kjata,

    Have a look at
I've just released a small selection that can be adapted as neccesary. All have been used by my school band - easily playable by beginners upwards. Example PDF files are on the site.

All the best for your search,

    Hi Kjata,

You don't mention the standard of the players in your group. I've done a couple of arrangements (for full band) that go down really well with younger players; one is a Ragtime medley called Great Scott! It's Ragtime and the other is a swing version of Go Down Moses. They're both real foot-tappers!

You can have a listen to mp3s and view the scores on my website. Here are the links:

    Best wishes,

    Hey all,
the standard of most of them are at least grade 6 but haven't much experience in bands!

    Hi Kjata,

Then it's really a case of taking the plunge on what you think they might like. All pieces on both mine and Big Shiny's sites have guidelines - I'm sure that most apart from the top level stuff would work fine.

    Good luck getting them banding!

In that case they'd have no trouble with the two arrangements I suggested. There are some syncopated rhythms and the solo cornet part hits a few high notes, but there are alternative cues notes too. Matt

I'm the solo cornet player and I can cope with sycopation... I would hope lol! ;)

Take at look at all the music there should be playable and most will work with a 10 piece too. Has the advantage of being cheap too....
I can highly recommend Matt's arrangement of "Go Down Moses" on Big Shiny Brass - my band love it.

Take a look at our Springboard Series. They're designed for players at the level you're looking for and scored for what is effectively a cut-down brass band. For example an optional Soprano part, three cornet lines, two horn parts, two tenor lines, Euph, bass trom, Eb & Bb bass but with doubling and cues in the bass lines. Most titles need a minimum of eight players only, depending on spread, but work equally well with a full band.

You can listen to them and view the scores to see that they are appropriate before you buy.

    Please follow this link

We also have an easier Junior Springboard Series for younger/less experienced players. This is designed for a minimum of only four players and includes parts suitable for beginners.

If you want something with a more jazzy feel our 'Little Big Band' Series is scored along similar lines.

When I was in a youth band we did a really good Alan Fernie piece named "Stal Himmel". Look out for it because it's a really fab piece and not too hard.

    Do it, Kjata! ;)

Fab arrangements. I can't praise them enough.
