With plans firmly in place for the pioneering youth brass and concert band festival, Music for Everyone (Muse), taking place from 13-19 April 2006, the organisers have announced that Muse is consolidating its future by securing dates for 2007.
The 2007 event will again be held during the Easter vacation from April 5 -11, 2007 and it is hoped that by announcing the dates now that interested bands will have plenty of time to plan their tour and raise the required funds. Help in planning the trip will also be given to groups by the festival organisers, Orient Explorer.
The 2007 festival will adopt the same format as the forthcoming event, but the organisers hope to develop the festival to incorporate more concerts and fringe events, making the whole trip a truly rounded cultural and musical experience. Any bands which are interested in attending the festival in 2006 or 2007 should log on to the festival website at:
With the inaugural festival only six months away, plans are progressing well and interest has now been expressed from ensembles in Canada as well as the UK, China, Sierra Leone, Australia and New Zealand.
Innovative plans are also being explored such as broadcasting all the competition and concert performances on the web, allowing the festival to reach out to those listeners across the world that cannot get to Singapore.
