As the Mods will not allow bands to add what march they are playing on Whit Friday. How about a poll to see which march is the most popular which players like to play?

I quite like Castell Coch & Castell Caerfili (sp?) and Glemdene.

And is 'The Wizzard' by Roy Wood? ;)

Does a march have to have "Contest march" at the top of it to be played at a contest?

I've met people who say so.

Mephi for me - as long as you don't do a DC as there isn't one marked.

Sorry, could only put 15 entries up so tried to base it on whats normally played on Whit Friday.

    Cossack was first reserve.

Looks like we have already started a list of alternative marches. If its not shown add it to the list

    Cossack
    Centaur

In last years Delph contest magazine I did an article about all the marches played in 2006. Out of 75 bands the figures were - R/Wood 14, K Temp 5, Meph & ORB 4, Pres, Coss, Corn cav, Viva B, Star L all on 3 perfs, Hon Toil and Senator 2 and Wizard just once! The rest were single performances as well so we had 37 different marches from 75 bands in 2006.

I'll get back with the 2007 figures. Got nothing else better to do!!

It's Knight Templar for me, although The Wizard is a close second.

O.R.B for me, with Honest Toil a close second (and it has the best cornet solo bit in, too!).

    Goldcrest?

    Black Knight?

  18. Got to be Mephi for me. Sentimental reasons due to boat loads of wins with it in the 70's.
