The Midland Area Test Piece Festival will take place at the Newstead Centre on Sunday February 26th starting at 7.00 pm.

Five bands will perform the music set for the regional heats of the National Brass Band Championships, together with a hymn tune, and receive feedback from experienced brass band adjudicator Mr John Roberts.

    Hathern: Mountain Views (Bertrand Moren)
Shirebrook M.W. (Unison): Cross Patonce (Goff Richards)
    Thurcroft Welfare: Olympus (Philip Harper)
Pleasley C.W: English Folk Song (Ralph Vaughan Williams)

Each band will also play a hymn tune and there will be a certificate for the best soloist from bands playing sections 1-4.

The first band will play at 7.00 pm and admission costs £2 at the door.

Everyone is welcome to come along and there will also be a bar and refreshments available.

The Newstead Centre is on Tilford Road, Newstead, Nottinghamshire NG15 0BU and is easily accessible from M1 Junctions 26, 27 or 28 - follow signs for Newstead Railway Station.
