After the success & amount of entries last year, we are once again running out March & Hymn Tune Contest, to be Held at the Travellers Rest Pub on Saturday May 7th.
If any Bands are interested in an enjoyable day out while test-running your marches for Whit Friday, then this is the perfect opportunity.
But you must be quick, the closing date for entries is THIS Saturday April 30th.

Please feel free to contact James Fawcett for further information, on (01484)309500

Alternatively, why not come for the day out, if anything just to enjoy afew ales & check out potential competition!

We would certainly welcome marching bands to come & compete, & hopefully it will go ahead next year & for years after, so if you are interested in taking part, please call the contact number above.
Meltham is a small village about 4 miles out of Huddersfield town, you could easily get directions by going onto multimap or similar websites, why not come this year to see what you'd be letting your band in for?!

Best Hymn: Marsden. 95 pts, Whitburn
Best March: Marsden. 94 pts, Honest Toil

A pleasant, if insufferably windy and cold contest. I played with Old Silkstone and Old Silkstone 'B' and had a good evening. Thought Marsden deserved the victory, I think OS left their best performance in Meltham band room to be honest!
