In memory of Steve Townend, 5 members of Meltham & Meltham Mills Band are about to embark on a parachute jump.

This parachute jump is to raise money for Kirkwood Hospice, Huddersfield, where Steve stayed during his period of illness with cancer. Kirkwood Hospice provide a fantastic service to families when they most need it. Thankfully most people never need their services, for those that do, the service/facilities and people are invaluable.
For all those that knew Steve Townend either as a friend or through the Brass Band world, he will be greatly missed. This parachute jump is in memory of Steve, and a chance to raise money for a good cause in his memory.
For those of you interested, on Saturday 16th June we will be doing a tandem freefall parachute jump from 15,000ft (approx.), with 1 minute of freefall at approx. 120mph, with the remaining under the canopy. All costs for the jump will be covered by corporate sponsorship, so all funds raised will go to Kirkwood Hospice.

Below is a link to an online service where people can sponsor these madmen and one lady in an effort to raise the necessary funds.

If you could see your way to donating a small amount we would be eternally grateful.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
