Dinnington Colliery Band regret to announce that Ken Vernon has resigned from his position as Musical Director of the band, with immediate effect.

Ken joined the band in November 2006 and has made huge progress with the band over the last few months, and has nurtured many young players who will be an asset to the band. In November, the rebuilding work Ken was faced with was daunting. However, the fruits of Ken's labour can already be seen, and for that, Dinnington is hugely grateful.

Toby Bannan, a former MD of the band has agreed to step in, in a 'caretaker' role, to help the band through this busy period until a replacement has been appointed.

The Committee and Members of Dinnington Colliery Band would like to thank Ken for all his efforts, and to thank Sarah Vernon and Lucy Vernon for their service to the band. We wish them luck for the future.

We are now looking forward to what promises to be an exciting period for the band and hope to make the appointment very soon.
