Anyone else think it was disgraceful they didn't mention his name?

Everyone else got a name-check, and it was mentioned that "you need a really good trumpet player for this" (Let The Bright Seraphim from Handel's "Messiah"), spotlight on him, but no credit!

I thought the programme was quite poor full stop to be honest.

Seraphim isn't from the Messiah (it is from Samson)

    A knighthood for Mr Murphy

It's typical of the gentleman; he does all the talking with the bell end. Mind you that "D" trumpet's been round the block a few times, I wonder how old it is?
If anyone deserves a gong for his contribution to music in this country it's Maurice Murphy; nothing less than a knighthood will do. He's always been my idol, there has never been a greater cornet or trumpet player in my humble opinion.

Right - lets get the campaign going - if not a knighthood, how about MBE/CBE/Pope! The guy deserves it more than a load of rugby or football players who played a few matches one season and won a few games!
