On November 17[SUP]th[/SUP] 2012 at 7.30pm three bands are joining forces to provide an amazing musical extravaganza to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Adrian Boult hall (part of Birmingham Conservatoire in the city centre) will be playing host to the Band of West Mercia Police, the Band of the West Midlands Fire Service and Blackwell Concert Band, Bromsgrove. TV and radio presenter Joanne Malin has kindly agreed to lead the concert as compere.

The organisers promise an entertaining evening with a special massed end to the evening. Co-organiser Vicky Stock, who is secretary to Blackwell Concert Band and librarian for West Mercia Police Band, has been going through breast cancer treatment since December 2009 and wants to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The concert is also being held in memory of a colleague of the Band of the West Midlands Fire Service, Fiona Irving, who died of breast cancer two years ago. Fiona was also an active volunteer and campaigner for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, even writing her own book, which aims to help carers and relatives.

The music will be varied, ranging from classical favourites to film themes and hits from the musicals. The evening will culminate with a massed band Last Night of the Proms finale.

All tickets are £10 each or £8 for concessions (over-60's, under-16's, students).
