    Good Afternoon all,

I read the threads on Manchester(yey!)Bands and on Families...and this prompted a question. Which I hope you guys could help answer?

I'm looking for a band(s) for my daughter and I. She's a beginner on the Cornet (Grade 1), and I play Trombone (Grade 2).

Does anyone know any bands that take adult beginners? Or any good junior bands?
I could travel within 30 mins radius of Manchester?

We just want to play and have some fun! :)
(Plus my neighbours need a break for a couple of days a week)

Whitworth Vale & Healey Youth Band

    Rehearse 7 - 8 every Wednesday

Really friendly, Brian Warrington is fantastic with the whole band, puts eveything into it! The band accomodates any standard of playing, and do some really good concerts throughout the year.
The band is also doing a CD recording in October with music that the kids want to play :)

Its worth a trip down, the whole band goes downstairs to the club and socialises together, parents meet and chat down there too during and after the rehearsel, this is usually known as 'Cocktail Hour' haha

Would also be nice getting a trombone down too to keep me company :)

Pm me back if your interested
    Cheers Chris,

Bollington Band have a great "B" band which welcomes all ages. It is conducted by Martin Davies (Principle of Bollington Band). 2nd man down's children both play in the band and members of the senior band regularly sit in to encourage the new players. The whole set up at Bollington is very family friendly, please let me know if you would like more information.

Dear chaps, thanks so much for your replies. I'll follow them up and PM you. It's really encouraging to have received so many invitiations.

Dear Eph-man, we're in south manchester, but like most mancunians I wear a grove into the M60.

    Thanks very much!
