making a recording - your tips and advice

  1. Hi
    my band is hoping to make a recording next year as part of our 150th anniversary celebrations. I would be grafetul for any tips, no matter how random, that you have learnt through experience.

    Would particularly be interested in suggestions for a good company that you were pleased with (or perhaps a p.m on a company you were dissapointed with)

    also any thoughts of the type of acoustic hall to use. Is it best in a really good concert hall, or a dry rehearsal type acoustic. Should a boomy hall be avoided
