Lydney Band are delighted to welcome the appointment of Captain Tim Cooper as their conductor for the forthcoming GBBA Entertainments Contest and the West of England Regional Finals.

Tim brings a wealth of musical knowledge and experience. He joined the Gloucestershire Regiment in 1977 as an oboist, and later became an instructor at the Junior Band of The Prince of Wales’s Division. After graduating from The Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall he was appointed Bandmaster of The Gordon Highlanders and in 1994 Bandmaster of the Life Guards. In 2000 he was commissioned and took the post of Director of Music of the Lucknow Band of The Prince of Wales’s Division.

Hello Neil and the rest of the band,

Good news on appointing a new conductor, congrats. Hopefully I will be at the GBBA Ents contest in a couple of weeks. Good luck.

Good luck to Lydney band with their new conductor. A splendid win at the GBBA should be a cracking start and a signal of intent for the area - best of luck!
Podgy pickle - will be at GBBA too with Rhiannon in 4th section. Why don't you come by for a drink at mine when it is all over?
