    Please excuse this shameless plug

On Tuesday 22nd November at 7.30pm the Lowry Brass ensemble are performing a recital at the Royal Northern College of music as part of its prestigious Young Artists Series.

Lowry Brass consists of Tim Barber, Gordon Richerbey (trumpet), Andrew Maher (horn), Adam Goldsmith (Good salvation army boy, trombone) and Ruben Crowther (Tuba). The Ensemble was formed in 1999 at the RNCM. Before graduation they became the first brass quintet to be awarded a PPRNCM with distinction. The ensemble frequently performs recitals around the UK and has done so at venues including the Bridgewater Hall and St Martin in the Fields. They have also performed on BBC Songs of Praise. Outside the quintet the members have performed with bands such as The Halle, BBC Phil, Liverpool Phil, Opera North, Manchester Camerata, Ulster Orchestra, Sinfonia Cymru, Scottish Opera, Halle Brass and The Black Dyke Band.

The Recital will include classic repertoire such as the Malcolm Arnold quintet, McCabe Rounds, Lutoslawski Mini Overture and Glinkas Rusland and Ludmilla overture, aswell as works by more contemporary Composers such as James MacMillan and Tim Jackson.

It promises at the very least to be a complete smack in the face for all concerned.

It would be great to see anyone there who can make it.

Looks to be a good programme - pity it's in Manchester and not London :(

Hope it goes well, and welcome to tMP ;)
