Looking for a band in Tameside

Discussion in 'Recruitment Corner' started by I bang AND Blow!, May 4, 2007.

  1. Hi

I'm looking for a band of some sort - not necessarily brass that would be willing to take on a young inexperienced but very keen drummer. Our school don't offer percussion lessons so I suggested that he try to find a local band of some kind that will 'train him up'. He lives in Hattersley. I don't know the area well at all so was hoping that someone on here would be able to point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

  2. Tell him to pop down to Denton Brass if you like. Would monday or Thurday between 6:30 and 7:30pm be any good for lessons or junior band? If he's better than you say he could always pop in to the main band which is at 7:30 - 9:30 on those nights?

  3. Junior band would be better - he's pretty much an absolute beginner, not really much of a reader yet but seems to have a pretty good sense of rhythm.

Will mention it to him - thanks.
