Lofthouse 2000 are excited to announce their upcoming performance in Paul Allen's adaptation of Mark Herman's hugely successful film 'Brassed Off' at Wakefield Theatre Royal in conjunction with Wakefield Little Theatre. The stage version of Brassed Off has received critical acclaim throughout the country. Brassed Off tells of the struggle of a small Yorkshire mining community attempting to maintain their dignity and hope when their very heart is torn out by the government pit closure programme. Witness the triumph of music and human spirit over hardship and despondency. The dates for the show are Tuesday 21st to Saturday 25th of November, all performances start at 7.30pm and tickets are priced £7 to £10 with concessions available. Rehearsals for the play are going extremely well and the band took the opportunity to hold an open rehearsal at the theatre, where the band met cast members for the first time, which gave the lead stars a chance to sit and 'have a blow' with the band. With around 1000 tickets already sold over a month in advance of the production we are hopeful of performing to five sell out audiences. To avoid disappointment book soon, you can purchase your tickets by contacting the box office at Wakefield Theatre Royal by phone on 01924 211 311, in person or by post to:- Wakefield Theatres, Drury Lane, Wakefield, WF1 2TE.
