Littleborough Public Band is very pleased with its result in its first contest in the last two years and is looking forward to a busy summer. The band achieved 9th place at the Tameside Contest two weeks ago and is delighted with the encouraging comments it received. Since the appointment of its new conductor Adrian Woodhead in September last year, the band has gone from strength to strength and is looking forward to a busy summer schedule performing at local community venues including Hare Hill Park and Littleborough Coach House, in which the band is performing its own lunchtime concert which was hugely successful last November. The band will also be making a trip over to Saddleworth to play a concert at Boarshurst Band Club. In addition to its concert season, the band is looking forward to an enjoyable and hopefully successful evening in Saddleworth and Tameside on Whit Friday as well as competing at the Hebden Bridge March and Hymn contest in June and the Brighouse Contest in July.
