We've had favourite piece, what about least favourite?

Off the top of my head mine would be
    Little Leisa
    Elvira Madigan
    Mood Indigo
    Pines of Rome

Caledonian Suite - Buxton Orr(ful) - mineworkers in 1992 , a real insult to scotlands musical heritage....
Eidelweiss - possibly the worst arrangement ever
Hootananny - almost as fun as the Ebola virus

Journey To The Centre of The Earth (Hopefully it will grow on me but doubt it)
Purcell Variations is another from a while ago.

Breezing down Broadway, and all the other cheesy arrangements that just don't know when to stop!

I must admit I totally hated "Journey into Freedom" until a couple of weeks ago! The piece I hate playing most is "Orange Juice"- no bars rest and repeated rhythms- I get so lost and bored!

    Several here for differing reasons.

Jingle Bells and Rudolph from the red carol books, due to over exposure at Christmas time!

Hey Jude due to the tedious bass part.

    Edelweiss as mentioned above

    English Country Garden - Dire

Sunset Rhapsody Eric Ball worse test I have played

    Czech Polka

That's all I can think of for now...........

mission impossible is a cool piece - but the timeing is awful 123,123,12,12 (10/8 time) and that cornet solo truely is impossible

Jazz - Philip Wilby. I know it has a cult following but I find it unlistenable, unplayable, unrewarding, and a waste of effort on the part of both audience and band. Dreadful.

The Happy Hippo - Dire, repetetive, tedious, and that's just the solo part.

Light walk - mainly from over-exposure.

Anything containing a double-flat/sharp (There really is no need.)

My old Kentucky home - goes on for EVER and never really starts

Oh Mein Papa - The worst arrangement ever. Dull, repetetive solo, whole piece written on two chords, repeat oom-pah accompaniment until doze off...

Bandstand boogie - Bar after bar of tedious scales with nothing special on top of it.... and NOWHERE to breathe in 130 bars!

Ravel's Bolero - just when you think it must end......

MacArthur Park - its so bad, it goes past being so bad it's good, right out of the other side into being just bad again...:-?
Concierto de Aranjeuz - come on people, there are loads of really good flugel solos out there. Why keep on resorting to this one? Unoriginal, and illegal..
Almost every selection I've ever played.
    Glasnost - *sigh*
Symphony of Marches. Sorry, I love Vinter's stuff normally, but this just leaves me cold. Not helped by me playing it about a million times without every actually playing it out anywhere.

All of the above pale into insignificance compared to:

New Buckingham Suite. Utter rubbish for brass band - you think this years area selections are bad? Get this little gem out of your library. It scares me to think our section rankings depended on how we played this piece. My days of making stupid animal noises ended when I started Junior school, and I'd rather not be judged on the quality of the baritone players' geese impressions. (insert bartone player gag here....)

New Buckingham Suite is definitely top of the list. Utter dog doo. I remember it being one of my first area contests and practicing cow noises on a BBb bass for weeks thinking it actually made a diference.

Last year's 4th section area piece, Divertimento, especially that stupid trite march.
Entertainments is quickly making it's way onto the list too.
Anything with the words "Frank Bernaerts" or "Edrich Siebert" on.
