Okay, I have a slight problem, the ladies will understand!

At the end of November we are going to Las Vegas for a week. Two questions:-

Does anyone know what the weather will be like then?
On the internet it says the early 20s during the day and around 10C during the night. I need to know whether to take warm clothing for the evening and 'summer day' clothes for the daytime.

What do people where in Las Vegas on an evening?
Oh dear, this is causing me such a problem! Is it casual dress? Evening Dress? I don't want to be overdressed, but I also hate being too casual!

Please advise - I want an excuse to 'hit' my hubbie's visa card!

well...don't forget to check out the Las Vegas Brass Band (

It's a desert so the extreme temperature fluctuation is normal...e.g. bring layers

You can get away with whatever you want as far as formalilty goes. Sometimes its fun to dress up, and you won't stick out, but a bit of an a**e to do it ever night IMHO.

Have fun...and don't lose all your money...

Ooooo Las Vegas!!!!! I think the temperature there is similar to LA, and I read on a website that it's best to pack layers as the temp at night can be cold.
I have packed some summer clothing and also some winter woolies
I've checked out the shopping in LA and the fashtion district in Downtown is defo on the cards ;)
Wow casino's and theatre's sound brillant.. Have a cool time Susan!

Las Vegas is hotter than LA. As soon as you move inland from LA you notice a significant rise in daily temperatures. At the airport - which is almost on the coast - you notice it is a lot cooler than several miles inland.

    Weird... but true.

Hot during the day, cool (I wouldn't say cold, myself) at night.

They've been having some strange weather recently, though. My parents went to Las Vegas at the end of September and it rained!! Just for the one day, but more rain was forecast for the week after they came back home!!

You should be ok with casual clothes.

Knowing your body temperature control I'd take lots of layers you're never warm!!

Seriously we were there mid November 5 years ago on Honeymoon and were walking around in T shirts and Shorts during the day and needed a light cardy of an evening (But then I normally wear T shirts at Pontins and don't need jumpers). You will just need Jeans/ shorts and T shirts during the day. Smart slacks and tops for the evening if you want to glam it up a little but we did not feel out of place still in our jeans. Its an anything goes type of place and you'll always find somewhere where your outfit does suit.

PS are you allowed to pack your suitcase and go on your own?;)

Having just got back from LA I can say the temperatures were considerably higher than what I had initially read before I went (around 15 degrees higher). The air was smoggy and humid which was a bit difficult to ajust to :( , but we managed to visit Santa Barbara and San Diego. Santa Barbara which is north of LA was very hot whilst San Diego which is south of LA was warm but raining. I got talking to a couple of guys who were staying in Las Vegas and they said the weather was very nice so I guess a mixture of summer and warmer clothing for the night time would be appropiate.
I had a great time and it felt strange to be walking about in summer clothes in the middle of November. I'm sure you'll have a great time Susan.
I'm going to Goa on the 8th of december for 2 weeks with Naomi my youngest daughter and my case will be light with just summer stuff as the weather will be hot :p

    Umm!

Unfortunately, I'm afraid my 'fear' has got the better of me. Tim cancelled the holiday last week (and he is gutted). The thought of flying to America was making me quite ill, and I knew I would not be able to get on the plane.

So, instead of holidaying in Vegas next week, we're going to London to see the new musical 'Wicked'. Tim went last month to see it, and he has 'raved' on about it ever since! And then there's the decorating that we never seem to have time to do.

I know what some of you will be thinking, or even say, but I don't regret my decision one little bit.

Susan I can understand what you are saying and too the point of making you ill I think the decision you made was sensible.
Whe I arrived at he hotel in LA I was given a room on the 15th floor and when I opened the door I panicked and I felt so sick that I had to go down to reception and ask for another room...
Have a great time in London :D

Haha. Tweedle Dee and Tweekle Dum raise their heads from the safety of their computer! Well for your information instead of going to Las Vegas, I am now going to London to see Wicked. So you know what that means don't you? Get ready for some more 'witchiness' tomorrow night at band. I believe I may pick up one or two more spells after watching this musical tonight! ;)
