Lampshades

    Why are lampshades for the ceiling white on the inside - the only bit you really see from down below. I don't understand why they don't pattern all of it. Any ideas?

    Is it because heat and light reflect off white surfaces?

    Think it's because white reflects the heat and light, that or it's a neutral colour for all rooms.
