On Friday 1st May, The KM Medway Band (Melvin White), surprised the audience of the hit touring show “Beyond the Barricade” at The Central Hall Theatre, Chatham when they took to the stage.

The show features songs from hit musicals and has toured the UK and Europe for 10 years. Russell Kennedy, who is the bass guitarist in the show and KM Medway's principal EEb bass player, was the soloist in “Bass in the Ballroom”, then the band performed “I Will Follow Him” from Sister Act, which opens soon in the West End. Both performances were received with rapturous applause from the sell out audience.

Speaking after the show KM Medway's Musical Director Melvin White said: "It was a pleasure to play to such an appreciative audience, and we hope we will have the opportunity to work with the talented cast of Beyond the Barricade again in the future".
