    Who's going?

Flixton are doing it for the first time this year.

If the weather stays good it should be a good day out!

    Sale are going.

It's always a good day out whether it rains or shines - sad note - I hear it's probably going to be the last event they're putting on.

Started as a fourth section and ungraded only then extended to the addition of the third section (you guys just get in on this, on your national grade!.)

See you there! Take plenty of beer tokens the Red Dragon and the Snooty Fox are excellent hostelries for both food and drink

    Denton will be there.

The band have done it before but it's a first for me and I'm looking forward to it!

Beer tokens for the pub and cool bag for the coach at the ready!! :D (guess who's booked Monday off work!!)

Yes it is going to be a good event - I've done all but 4 of the contests since 1991.

    on speculation:

    Elmfield (Stockport)
    Kirkby Lonsdale Band

    are definites:clap:

    plus probables:

Glossop community College (Youth) - won last year
    Lofthouse 2000
    Ripon City

plus three or four others - I'm told there are 12 bands competing.

Congratulations to Flixton - you sounded great (and obviously the adjudicator agreed!!!)

For those of you who maybe bought a programme, Clive Fox was listed as the conductor of Denton Brass. This is in fact incorrect - we are now conducted by Jonathan Davies!

First time I have ever done this contest. It was very well organised and a great day out - I hope the rumours of it being the last ever aren't true.

Well done to everyone in the prizes!

Thanks for the comments Ann-Marie. I thought it was a nice day out too and a well-attended contest. Even the weather turned out okay!
