YBS Band are delighted to announce that euphonium star Mike Kilroy has joined the band on Principal Euphonium on a full-time basis. Mike has decades of experience at the highest level of brass banding with many of the country’s top bands.

Mike has actually been a team member at YBS for over a year now, deputising for Morgan Griffiths on a permanent basis at concerts before Morgan took over the role of MD, whilst still playing for Desford Colliery Band at contests. After performing with the band on second euphonium at the Area, YBS are delighted to have Mike on the top chair.

Former solo euphonium, Daniel Hunt, has decided to relinquish his position with the band due to his impending move to London, where he has secured a teaching position at St. Joseph’s Catholic College. Dan has been an integral part of the team at YBS, playing both solo and second euphonium since joining, and will be sorely missed by his friends at the band. Everyone at YBS wishes him the best of luck for his future career.

Joining the band on second euphonium is James Emberley, a student at the University of Salford who joins the band from Wire Brass, where he was Principal Euphonium. Everyone at YBS is delighted to welcome James to the band.

Hats off to Killer on his new post. Well done Mike. Top bloke and great natural player.

Good luck to Dan as well with his new job. Shame he couldn't carry on just as he was making a mark.

    Speak soon Rob.....
