It gives us great pleasure to present a special concert – Gillingham Imperial Silver Band will be welcoming the Woodfalls Band to the Sturminster Newton Exchange, Dorset next Saturday (22 June).

Woodfalls Band are on fine mettle having recently just won the Senior Cup and qualified for the National Finals at the Albert Hall.
The programme of music offers something (we hope!) for everyone and gives you an idea of just how vast a repertoire a modern brass band covers. Rarely heard gems including the soprano solo ‘Lyrica’, the blisteringly quick ‘Russlan and Ludmilla’ and the exciting score from the film ‘Silverado’ will be given an airing during the evening.

Simon Dobson’s moving ‘Penlee’ depicting the 1981 Cornish lifeboat disaster will also be performed alongside Eric Crees’ masterpiece arrangement of Bernstein’s West Side Story. Whilst Paul Lovatt-Cooper’s Salvation Army inspired masterpiece ‘Fire in the Blood’ will round the evening off.

Tickets are only £5 and are available from the Exchange Box Office http://www.stur-exchange.co.uk/ 01258 475137
