The Jaguar (Coventry) Band, under their Musical Director David Lea, will be performing at this year’s English Music Festival on May 31st. The programme will contain works from the early part of the 20th Century by some of England’s greatest composers including Percy Fletcher’s Epic Symphony and Holst’s Moorside Suite. This is the first time that a Brass Band has been invited to perform at the event and everyone involved is understandably excited about representing the movement in a festival that this year involves such luminaries as the Tippett Quartet and the BBC Concert Orchestra. The concert starts at 2.30pm on May 31st and takes place in the beautiful setting of Dorchester Abbey, Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. This tops off an extremely busy May for the band, coming just two weeks after the Grand Shield and a day after the All England Masters International Championship. Full details of the festival can be found at the website where you can also book tickets: http://www.englishmusicfestival.org.uk/index.html Details of the venue can be found here: http://www.dorchester-abbey.org.uk/ We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be a great afternoon of music.
