Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band would like to welcome 2 faces to the band and 1 old face back to the band in time for the NEMBBA contest in Derby and the Area Contest in Bedworth.

They are Beverley-Jane Shaw on 2nd Euph, Josh Newman On 3rd Cornet at Derby and Percussion at the area. And one of our old players coming back Mykee Hockham on Solo Cornet.

Bev and Mykee have joined the band just for Derby and the area as they currently play with Harwoth Brass band who are in the process of rebuilding and are hoping to contest later this year after a 4 year absence.

Josh joins the band from Ashover where he has been playing and joins his dad who joined the band in September last year. Josh will be playing 3rd cornet at Derby which will be his first contest ever and then will be moving on to percussion for the area.

Commenting on the new signings Graham Weighill said " After a great result at Butlins the band have been working hard on The Tailmans for Derby and the area. And with these new signings the band is now is a very unit for both contests."

All members of ICCB would like to welcome all 3 players and hope they have a great time with us.

The band are now practising for Derby where it hopes it will have a good run out of the area test peice even with a few players short as they have other commitments. But the band are still going with out borrowing players to fill the empty seats.
