As valentines day approaches i thought it would be nice to let each other share ideas and thoughts, so thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can say NICE thing about other TMPers and also share your ideas of what your going to do for valentines. I'm on holiday for valentines so will probably be doing nothing with my mate, may have to watch a cheesy chick flick though, anyone doing anything romantic? or want to tell someone you love them?
Valentine's Day...more commonly known as Single's awareness day Its a non band night so i'll be sharing it with my cornet and practicing ...Unless something remarkable occurs within the next 15 days!
I think all tmperererers are lovely and those who wish to send me cards, gifts and elaborate bunches of flowers should do so. (pm me for my address) Last year I was in Paris for valentines day with 2 charming young men and had to post Valentine's cards for a couple of tmpers - I'm not in Paris, but am in Oxford if you want me to do any posting! I think I'm busy that night....I have a date with a very friendly bottle of vodka
LIke all good Twigge stories, it all started with a large quantity of alcohol, the internet and an urge to do something spontaneous like booking a trip to Paris. 4 of us booked originally, one of whom later backed out as she woke up to the biggest hangover in her life - aggreeing to come on holiday with myslef, Shaun and Norman! All very, very platonic and very, very funny! Walking up the Eiffel Tower on Valentine's day(in the hail)....how romantic!
I, of course will be taking my beloved wife, Sam out on Valentines evening. I have already got the place sorted - it has everything, good company, live music, and will easily keep us both entertained for the evening.... ....I do hope she's practiced her part for "Images" though.....
February 14th right? That's Liverpool v Arsenal. Cool. Best go and tel lthe missus she's going out that night then, cos I'll be glued to Sky Sports!
St Valentines Day, 14th February, mmm, well, the downside is that it is my birthday, and I will be 55, or as my late mother used to say, I will be entering my 56th year! The upside is, that my wife will be working...wait a minute, I think I got something wrong there.
Its all a bluff, I bet Tim does the nicest romantic gestures ever the big hearted softie!! I will be spending a quiet evening at home with the love of my life, apple of my eye and star of my nightmares and then popping down the pub for my bit on the side before sneaking home for some more quality time. Beer then pub for football, then back home to more beer
Valentine's Day? Are you supposed to do something romantic??? OMG. So that's what it means! Anyway, I would hazard a guess, as it is only a few weeks to the Area, that this 'romantic' night will be spent at rehearsal. If not, well I would imagine it will be as exciting as every other night, get home from work, perhaps make some tea, then struggle to stay awake before 9pm. Oh well, the settee is very romantic.
Valentines day is becoming more and more commercialised i think, why should it be that on a certain date in the year the shops are full of cards and gifts specifically for this day. Maybe i am becoming a boring person, if this is the case i am open to offers of a full revitalising service...
Hows Going to band practise sound? Its band practise night for us and with the area contest just over 4 weeks away its a must:clap:
Singles awareness day indeed!! I just bought a new car and had to fill in some forms, but managed to miss a whole section out. So the chap selling me the car read them out to me; He said, 'Marital status. Are you single?' So I said, 'Yes love, terminally'. How to make yourself appear desperate to car salesmen in one easy step... The year before last I was working on valentines day (night)in a restaurant so I had to watch all the happy couples come in for dinner... if that wasn't bad enough, just as we were closing, the chef noticed a bit of a puddle on the kitchen floor. As he mopped it up, however, it seemed to grow. In fact, the faster he mopped, the faster it appeared! We discovered it was seeping out from the back of the walk-in chiller and freezer. After an hour or so's frantic mopping (about an inch deep in places now- no exaggeration) we discovered that the customer toilets which backed onto the freezer were also a bit damp... someone had stolen the ball-cock thingy from the cistern so it didnt know when to stop filling!! It had been pouring through the walls all night!! We had to scoop up gallon after gallon of toilet water (thankfully clean!) off the kitchen floor with dustpans, and someone even went home to get their aquavac carpet cleaner to suck it up!! So, on valentines night, at 1am, I was at work, drenched, and eating pizza with my boss, the chef, and another waitress. How very romantic.
I'll be spending my Valentines Day at school and then at Band..... one of them glorious days us singletons look forward to. At least I can expect the usual fluke card from my parents eh!
Uurgh, I hate valentines day! This year I'll be at band, as will my boyfriend (unfortunately not the same band  )...romantic or what?!? I like to think of it as dedication to music, but really I don't think either of us can be bothered!
Well I shall be at work and while it is a band night I am hereby handing in my apols!!!! Beaks and I will have a nice quiet evening together I think! Rach x
