If Donald Trump was a Bandsman what do you think he would he play? (Imagine the funding!) Is he a Bass Trombonist with ambitions to be a conductor...:)

He would buy his own band and be nothing less than the principal conductor and chairman of the board.

And if he was on tMP he would be the king of trolls!!

    A new theory emerges...

    Was Donald Trump 'Red October'?

Nope, at least Red sometimes wrote sensible posts - I doubt Trump would be able to string anything together here that made any sense at all!

I don't know what role he'd play, but his band would be "HUGE"!

Obama would be a soprano player, elegant, precise and delicately rising above things. You agree?

Of course, if any of these guys made MD, they would have to leave after 8 yrs and you'd be stuck with them for at least 4 - unless poor contest results are an impeachable offence.

Just imagine the rousing pre-contest speeches. Bring a tear to many a manly eye I'm sure!

Still, he could make Europe pay for a wall to keep all those pesky foreign bands out!

I was about to say that 'red' is the last colour you'd associate with Mr T - but of course, red has been the colour associated with the USA Republican Party for some years now. So it's possible.

Nah, he'd be a baritone - nice little snippets of sound here and there but mostly out of sight, plugging away without really achieving much that gains recognition with the audience - an important cog rather than a standout performer.

Trump would turn up with a trumpet, insist he was going to make the band great again... Then blast out Maynard-esque solo's tastelessly while the band played hymn tunes.

Much more likely to be Nellie the Elephant:

Nellie the Elephant packed her trunk
And said goodbye to the circus
Off she went with a trumpety-trump
    Trump! Trump! Trump!

Ominously, the mascot of the Republican Party is....the elephant.

I wonder if WoB will re-issue Gilbert Vinter's The TRUMPets?

So Cameron...would you have him in your band or send him over to your contest rivals?

Pass him on, for sure. There's no room for egos like that in a team. And then watch sadly as the band that did take him on proceeded to fold around him.

Edit: Oops, sorry... Thought we were talking about Trump still for some reason despite the clear labelling in your post! Wouldn't want Cameron either - far too much play for personal advantage and jockeying to make others look bad - also v destructive. Odd to think that if he did play brass, we're geographically one of the bands he might be able to reach from his house... Brr...
