ICCB solo, duet and quatet contest closing date approaching

    The very first Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band Solo, Duet and quatert contest is fast approaching and the closing date for entries is the 18th May.

    If you would like to enter this contest get your entry forms in fast the contest is on Saturday 16th June 2012 in Staveley near Chesterfield Derbyshire.

    Saturday 16th June 2011 – 10am start

    A JUNIOR SLOW MELODY 10 YEARS AND UNDER £2.50
    B JUNIOR SLOW MELODY 11, 12, 13 AND 14 YEARS £2.50
    C JUNIOR SLOW MELODY 15, 16, 17 AND 18 YEARS £2.50
    D JUNIOR AIR VARIE 18 YEARS & UNDER £2.50
    E OPEN SLOW MELODY £2.50
    F OPEN AIR VARIE £2.50
    G OPEN DUETS £4.00
    H JUNIOR QUARTET HYMN TUNE (3 VERSES) 14 YEARS & UNDER £8.00
    I JUNIOR QUARTET 18 YEARS & UNDER £8.00
    J OPEN QUARTET £8.00

    The contest will be open adjudication and a copy of the soloist’s music needs to be handed in on arrival on the day of contest. The contest will be predawn on the 25th May 2012.
    For anyone or group requiring piano accompaniment there will be a piano available on the day. You will need to bring your own pianist.

    The contest will be concluded by 5pm at the latest

    PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CLOSING DATE IS FRIDAY 18TH MAY 2012

    The closing date for this contest has been left open till 5pm on Friday 25th May if you have not entered and would like to please contact the band asap.

    we currently have over 70 entries and the contest will be split over 2 venues in Staveley Chesterfield

    At both venues there will be food and drink available. But the real ale festival will only be in the Speedwell rooms.

    We are also happy to announce that Pennine Music will be in the speedwell rooms as our selected Trade stand for the contest, so why not come along and have a look at some of their new arrangements

    If your coming to the contest why not stay and listen to Ireland Colliery Chesterfield band in the evening at the Speedwell rooms for the launch of our new CD. The concert is "a night at the movies " its £5 a ticket and will be a great night with Chesterfields premier brass band.
