Pleasley colliery band are looking forward to being put through their paces by one of the country’s leading conductors.
Ian Porthouse has agreed to take the the band under his wing as they prepare for the midland regional contest.

Pleasley MD Keith Buxton is delighted to secure Ians’ services “ Both myself and the band hoping to learn so much from Ian. It is fantastic that a busy man like Ian can take time out to come and spend time with us. “

The band are hoping that Ian can help them build on their recent run of 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] places and hopefully claim their first victory since 1988.

Keith added,” we are playing well and confidence is running high. The band will give it their best shot. Ian is the icing on the cake . .

The rehearsal will take place this Wednesday (27[SUP]th[/SUP]) at The Fairways public house which is on the A60 just north of mansfield. Anybody is more than welcome to come along and listen to a good fourth section band being rehearsed by one of the best MD’s in the world.
