it is with deep regret and much sadness that due to two upcoming operations i announce my retirement from playing. this was to be my 43rd year playing trombone, and it will be only the 2nd area contest i have missed playing in all those years. i spent 32years with beresfords, beresfords cardway, congleton brass. then laterly with silk brass. i would like to thank all the players i have played with, and all the conductors i have played under. you have all left me with so many wonderfull memories. good luck to my band silk brass for the future. many thanks ian buckley.
