I've just looked at the number of Users On Line = 60.

The number of members = 14 and guests = 46. Fine so far BUT the total number of member's names that are listed is only 12. Who are the Invisibles and how can I join?

Try taking a deep breath and close your eyes. It works for me. LOL

    Hi Geoff,

Click on Your Tools on toolbar (top of page - under tMP logo)

This will take you to . . . . Your Control Panel

    Scroll down to . . . . Edit Options

then tick the . . . . Use Invisible Mode

Although you will be 'invisible' to our regular members you can still be seen by Admin and Moderators.

    Hope that helps

Thank you for that, Roger. I'll give it a go and see if it feels any different (or if anyone misses me!)

I went through to the kitchen this morning to find a little new year's message from the dog. Strangely enough, he made himself invisible until I'd stopped shouting!

My poor attempt at humor. It is a not so politically correct line from an old "Charlie Chan" movie. An invisible person says Who's that, and this is the reply delivered by the driver.

Asking who is going to help you clear up makes people disappear and become invisible I notice. I blame Harry Potter.

...and what a good question that is. Nobody noticed I wasn't there and nobody noticed that I'd come back (and that's the story of my life :().

The only differences I found were that the column next to my posts showed me as being off-line when I was actually on-line on, I didn't appear in the Members On Line list and I could visit members' profile pages without showing up as a visitor - and that seems a bit like stalking to me.

No, I can't think of any reason to be invisible, but there must be one, otherwise why is the facility there?

There are only a few that would care...

Well, i have to admit i dont visit peoples profile pages very often. It irks me that they can see i care enough about what they have written to look at who they are. My tmp weakness!

Asking for help shifting stands and shed-building equipment at the end of a gig can aid invisibility enormously, I find ;)

As to why someone would want to be invisible, I seem to recall that someone in the past put forward a suggestion that they wouldn't show up if using tMP when at work etc. Mind you, it would only seem to be a problem if the boss was also spending work time on tMP ;)
