Just wondering if anybody knows anything about this contest? I'm playing there tomorrow with Greenfield, and just wondering if they are going to be the only band there  .

Never heard of this contest before, should be interesting to say the least.

They aren't the only band there, i think there are 3 in the top and 6 in yours. I'm off to listen for a fun day out. See how hade edge do on an old International Masters favourite called ************ ***** by **** ******. I can't say the name so i'll bleeper it!!!!

One of the best few years spent at Homfirth. Hope the police turn up this year so the road can be closed off for the marching at the end of the contest...lol!

Sadly I have double booked myself, but might be able to make it over later in the eve.

BTW, there is a Facebook group about the contest!

Thanks for the results Johnny . It seems like quite a diplomatic outcome in Section A ! Never known a tie for first place .

Regards the march at the end although I wasn't there, its a shame it didn't take place . Its really more of a parade rather than being a contest .

No parade afterwards because of health and safety fears. Or at least that is how it was put to the audience.
Organisers probablly didn't fill out an adequate risk assesment form or something, lol.
Good day bar the results. Too many trophy's and too much confusion from the anouncer.

Im afraid the whole thing descended into a farce at the end.

It was embarassing for all involved.

Yeah, i actually preferred greenfield to uppermill, but then i do like the test piece. Having said that it was always going to be a North West 1 2 and a Yorkshire 3 4.

    Disappointed Deepcar pulled out.

Sounds like another banding event going down the pan,I remember over 20 bands at Holmforth Contest, it was the highlight of the year and a top class social event.

Burbage went a few years ago as a warm up a week before Buxton Contest. I think they have changed the dates around and I don't think there is any biggish contests after Holmfirth??

no, after the 4 had played.

However it was always going to be a yorkshire 1 2 3 in the top section!!!!! the result was very predictable in the lower section
