Just wondering who is entering in the Youth and 4th section at Holmfirth?
Yorkshire Traction Honley Band
Uppermill will be there
Apparently one or two format changes I hear. Youth and 4rth section no longer together. A separate youth section is to play a hymn tune arrangement, not red hymn book as last year (Mmm. i wonder why?) and a concert piece instead of a contest piece.
Heard DobX Youth are there this year. they're performing really well this year.
It's great to see that Yorkshire Traction Honley Band are back on the contest scene after so many years away.
Good luck and play well.

Paddy's Fantasy League will cover this event as we have a confirmed line-up (Sans Boarshurst)
Is it DobX or DobX Yth in Section B?
Dobx Youth Paddy.
Just heard 'TV stars' Dinnington Brass Band have made a late entry.
Section B at Holmfirth is turning out to be an excellent contest for the 3rd and 4th section bands, attracting band from both sides of the Pennines and now South Yorkshire. Lots of rivalry and pride at stake.
Congratulations to Skelanthorpe B on winning the B Section. Well done also to Paula for the best soloist prize.
Brilliant result - you all deserve it
Anyone got full results (and who played what?)
Skel B won B section
Dobcross Youth Band
Don't after that....
Dobcross Youth Band won Youth Section and the soloist prizes
We came 5th. Did Dinnington get disqualified or something?
Borrowed championship section player I think.
Silly mistake really, there were lots of championship section players and conductors in the audience that noticed straight away, a few people mentioned something to the organisers. Not sure what happened after that in regards to being disqualified or if they withdrew?
Well done to Skelmanthorpe B Band for winning Section B today. And a well deserved congratulations to Paula Fisher (Euphonium) for winning the soloist prize! A very musical performance and a good boost after your less than favourable Area result.
(I missed 2 bands but I heard the other 6 which were: Dobcross Youth, Stalybridge, Skelmanthorpe B, Dinnington, Huddersfield & District and Clifton & Lightcliffe. PM me if you want any honest feedback!)
Who won Section A ?
That would be Wakefield Metropolitan!
