Here's a question.

    Put aside your predjudices against England and/or Liverpool (if you have any), and forget your unswerving support of all things English and Scouse (if that applies to you);

    Honestly, hand on heart, who would you rather have in your team, Gerrard or Ronaldinho.

    Sure they are both massive talents, but when your chips are down and you need some inspiration from somewhere, who would you rather was pulling the strings?

    I think, despite all his obvious ability and skills I'd still rather have Gerrard over Ronaldinho. His drive and never say die attitude wins it for me.

    I couldn't agree more. :clap:
    Do you think Ronaldinho would have come out for the 2nd half if his team were 3-0 down in a cup final? Would he have grabbed the team by the scruff of it's neck and made them fight back? Would he (after playing 90 minutes in midfield) then go and do the right backs job for him too AND STILL have put his name forward to take the 5th and (potentially) most nerve wracking penalty of his career?

    Give me stevie G any day of the week!
    How CAN you be worth that much money and not get your teeth fixed? :dunno

    I think it's unfair to compare them, they're different sorts of players.

    If you want someone to create something out of nothing, turn three defenders inside out and lay the ball on a plate for your centre forward, there isn't anyone in the world better than Ronaldinho. But in that respect he is very specialised and can't track back much.

    If you want someone to put a challenge in to win the ball on your own 18 yard line, pick a pass, out, and then run his legs off to get to the other 18 yeard line, Stevie G is your man. Does everything well, shoots, tackles passes, but maybe is a little behind ronaldinho in vision, technique and creativity.

    Tough call to compare them. They're both the best in the business at what they do.

    In true Kevin Keegan fashion, I'd pick Ronaldinho, simply because it'd never be dull watching a team he was in!!

    Unfair? Why? I wasn't comparing them. That was my point entirely. Which of their two very differing (but ultimately invaluable) attributes would you rather have in your squad.
    Not an easy question to answer really. :-?

    Yeah Stevie G gets my vote for these reasons too. I just cannot see Ronaldinho playing in defence if he was asked too. Well he might give it a go, but I doubt he'd be much good!
    Just to show I'm not being biased, if the choice was Roy Keane in his prime or Ronaldinho, I'd go for Keane. I think those kind of players, like Gerrard and Keane are not just the type that win you matches, they are also the kind that don't lose you matches.

    Would have to be Ronaldinho, he is just a master of his game! Gerrard is a great all round player but if you were watching would you not rather be entertained by a wizard on the ball? Have a look at my mates Bebo page as it has the wizard in action and some of the things he does are unbelievable.
