    Hello chaps and chapesses,
I need a little help. I am trying to put a guestbook on my new site and I do not have the expertise to programme it myself. I have tried, but made an unholy botch of it.

Does anyone one of a good, pre-coded, minimal input from me and, most of all free guest book that I can download and insert into my site?

    Many thanks,

    MIke

I've used Viper guestbook successfully in the past - it's not uncrackable but it does have moderator facilities so you can keep an eye on what's posted. And if you install it in something other than a directory named "viper" you tend not to attract the script kiddies :)

PM me if you have trouble tracking it down.

Probably a bit late, but I use Bravenet Guestbook. Basically you can do all the editing online and simply use a code that refers to all the edits and then you simply paste the code where you want to guestbook displayed.
http://www.soundcityracing.co.uk/guestbook.html You do get an advert under the most recent post but it's free!

(Ps, yes the site is mine and I did build it myself)

Thanks both. I was struggling getting the viper working as my site is Frontpage extensions and I couldn't manipulate the asp pages. The Baravenet seems to be very easy to set up, so I'm trying that out. Anyone want to sign it to see if it's working?

    ;) Ta

At a rough guess, it's "The Eagley Brass Band" (from his sig ;))

Hopefully added something. Difficult to read though due to the colour.

I'll come back to your site later though.

Thanks, Amanda, your message did come through. I thought the post message page would take it's background colours from the message list page, but apparently it doesn't. I hope it is legible to all now.

The post message page now has black on blue, I think it's picking on you

Guestbook looks alright to me - had a quick look this morning but couldnt comment.

Only iccle thing I'd say is use a slightly more dominent colour for the FONT in the menu bars (Prev, First, Home, Last etc...) and possibly change the yellow text. But it's all down to the user.

Hope it was easy enough to put in the site etc...

OK, here's what I see. What's wrong with this and are yours different?

I see the same as you. Are people referring to the date at the top right of each post, which is black on a dark blue background? That is quite hard to read, but everything else is OK.

I meant to put "my text" instead of "my test" but hey ho...

Well as long as its working, which it is and you like it then that's all that matters...
