There's various arrangements of Be Thou my vision available - James Curnow and William Gordon to name just two. I don't know any of the arrangements but would guess that they all use the well-known hymn tune and not some weird one. Isn't there an arr. of this in the red books? I know there is one in the blue books....

Don't know of any arrangements of When I needed a neighbour though....

I believe both hymns are in the blue SA tune books..... i know that Be Thou My Vision (Slane) is no789. I think WINAN goes under a different name in the tune books, not sure what its called. Its only 8 bars long, v easy to write out!

"Be thou my vision" is a slightly amended version of the tune "Slane" (789 in the SA tune book) - set in 4/4 rather than 3/4. If necessary, you could probably get away with using the traditional version, although I believe the new one is in one of the sets of Scripture-based choruses.

Try 2Euph, Helen has written a load out for Tideswell and she might have those two.

Dragon Music publishes Steve Morland's rather gorgeous arrangement of 'Lord of All Hopefulness' which shares the hymn tune known as Slane. It's well worth a listen.

The first 4 are all in the standard SA tune books (numbers 657, 60, 498 & 576) whilst the last is in the new "Magnify" book, No 7.

If it is the old red books you have, then I don't think it was in there. As I said, it is No 657 in the current (blue) book, and I'm pretty sure it was also in the old Keep Singing and Songs of Faith books as well.
