If only you could spell properly, perhaps that alone is putting players off from applying. They might be thinking that if the spelling and grammar is poor, what else might be ?

Dave - I assume your post is intended in good faith. I can assure you that whilst not all members of the band are literary masters, Rick, who tirelssly works to maintain the bands membership is a master at music making. Strangely enough we have a policy of inviting in friendly characters who enjoy music making and who demonstrate commitment and loyalty, and very rarely ask for a written CV.;)

Yes it was in good faith, but at first I thought it was a way of attracting attention to the posts/vacancies. I now find it annoying. I can accept that the author of the posts works very hard for the band, that is to be applauded. Perhaps at your annual awards, he might be awarded ‘Bandsman of the Year’ ~ perhaps a dictionary or a spell checker for his computer might be the appropriate gift.

Best of luck filling your vacancies.

Ah clearly someone has left their head somewhere as i thought this was a site to discuss bands and not spelling!!!!!!

Its nice to know that the majority of bander aren't actually sad and manner-less to bypass the actual post. Oh wait . . . . . . . .

    Hebden Bridge Band

Hebden Bridge Band are on the look out for a quality cornet player to complement the team ready for their first season in the Championship section due to losing a player to University (good luck Jack and thanks) after the National finals in September.

We have a balanced programme including contests and concerts as well as a healthy regard to maintaining an enjoyable social atmosphere.

We rehearse on a Monday and Wednesday evening from 8 - 10 in our own bandroom near to Hebden Bridge under the baton of Roy Curran, and can arrange transport as we have players travelling from both sides of the Pennines.

Please Pm or give Ian Plant a call on 07831 833479.

Look forward to hearing from you.
