Despite the wet, the contest is definitely going ahead:clap: However because the usual car park is completely waterlogged the following arrangements have been made:

The Police are not permitting ANY parking on the road at Hardraw, although dropping off and picking up passengers will be allowed. There will be a one-way traffic system signposted through Hardraw - please observe it.

Arrangements have been made for visitors to park free of charge in Hawes Auction Mart yard. There will be a coach shuttle in operation to and from Hardraw costing 50p per head for a single journey. This will operate from the Auction Mart between 9.00 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. with the return journey from Hardraw starting from 4.00 p.m. till the end of the event. The coach will also stop at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Museum car park en route. Cars parked there will be subject to the usual charges.

As usual, band coaches will drop off and then return to park in Hawes.

We just hope that the bandstand does not succumb to the fate of its predecessor which was washed away in flash floods:eek:
