I always thought Valentine's was more for single people, to enable them to send cards anonymously etc. Not that I'm really into it anyway. Bah Humbug etc...

It is all a big commercialised "holiday" in my very humble opinion.

    (Guess who didn't get a card? ;))

It is all a bit commercial these days. It's also my wife's birthday - ever tried buying flowers at a sensible price this last couple of days? Or actually trying to find a decent birthday card when the shelves have been cleared to fill them with valentines cards?

(Yes, I do buy two cards, if you were wondering!)

I'll get some flowers for 'er indoors' tomorrow from Tesco's as it's her birthday on the 15th!

OK so I'm tight but what the hell, saves a lot of arguments!

I got really excited when a big pink envelope came through my door earlier in the week... but it was just an alumni update from RWCMD. I have no idea why it was sent in a pink envelope, it was like they were teasing me!

Ha, you may well mock Dyl but it nearly happened!! Neither of us realised there was a different spelling, we thought it was fiancee for both, someone warned us just in time though! They are the same cards but with the different spellings on

It's also my birthday today - which means I have a double whammy. I have had two identical cards - one with Happy Birthday to my Darling Wife and the other one with Happy Valentines Day. Tonight we have been out for a meal on our own and it was lovely. So all in all I have had a fab day (especially with the birthday banner across the top of my screen courtesy of tMP - thanks The Music Man!!)

Hugs to all you Valentines - single or not. :D

Well Him indoors and I have reached another of those great relationship epiphany moments. I knew he was setting up for the week from hell from last weekend so I went ahead and bought my own present. It arrived on Friday, he liked it and so do I so happy all round. Shame that we won't get out on the tiles till monday courtesy of me working since thursday night till monday morning!!!;)

Got a nice card from my wife (and gave her a nice card as well - and a box of sweeties!), and suggested that we head into town last night for a bite to eat somewhere. Home from work to find.............a houseful of assorted relations (mother and mother-in- law at the same time!) and banners all over the shop proclaiming my age to the entire street. My birthday is actually a few days away yet but it was decided to have the surprise party early rather than next Saturday, as wife and daughter reckoned that I may "suspect" something by then.
I'll still act surprised at work though ...........my son has been phoning colleagues over the last few days, unaware that I see the incoming phone call log every morning!!
