... not Dinnington's recording then?
Spot on .
Thats it...............throwing in the towel. My whole musical future up in smoke..........ahhhh well. Back to practicing for the ABRSMs instead of a load of mirrors and smoke.
I play because like it end of....if people enjoy it, it makes it all worthwhile.
And theres reason why Grimey were at Abby Road then. Bet they can't wait!!!
Best bit will be trying to get all the instruments past the metal detectors, or getting a BBb through one of the X-Ray machines :dunno
"Sources at Grimethorpe Colliery Band have revealed that the band is shortly to make a major announcement that they believe will secure the band a worldwide profile."
It would be great for the banding world in general if this were true but I think this statement might be slightly over-egging the pudding. I have watched many an opening ceremony and i am hard pressed to remember any of the musical acts. Well, apart from Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl but i remember that for entirely different reasons
Really? I'd be surprised if most brass players didn't remember the Sydney 2000 Opening Ceremony ... :
Why was he miming to sweep the dog ?
Did he get paid?!
[tin hat on and running away very quickly]
or how about John Williams conducting Olympic Fanfare and Theme in 1984?
(the sound quality of the clip isn't very good)
I was laughing at the "sweep" comment. Sorry.
I didn't remember the Sydney Ceremony either.
Maybe it's just a trumpet-player thing ...
I didn't remember it either.
Mind you, I didn't actually watch it in the first place...
Although now, having seen it, I'll not forget it in a hurry!
You could be right! - it's also my ring tone
Have they made this announcement yet? I gave up waiting.
