Gresley Old Hall Band Concert Review

    On Saturday evening 8th October The Gresley Old Hall Band &Gresley Junior Band played at Burton Town Hall to a 3/4 full audience.
    Gresley were conducted by David Hutchinson and the Juniors by Tony Bayliss.
    A good range of music was played in both halfs of the concert with features for Cornets "Trumpets Wild", Horn feature,"Hey Jude" a guest soloist as well this been David Hutchinson who played Solitare on Soprano and showed why he is still one of the best players of the instrument.
    A Eb Bass solo played by Peter 'MOSH' Hylton with Wandering Star, and Euphonium Solo 'Largo al Factotum' played by Karl Eames.
    Other items played included the Mark Freeh arrangement of 'O Man River', 'Rhapsody In Blue' and to finish as a encore a good old favorite 'Jamies Patrol'
    The Junior Band were featured to start the second half off with played 'The Old Castle Suite' by Stewart Johnson, 'Cool Calypso', a March 'Seaham Town' and to finish (Is this the way to) Amarillo.
    The concert was also recorded on Video and Dvd byAdvision Direct;
    as part of the Gresley Bands 150th year formation.
