(As opposed to the predictable grey day for all concerned!)

Barnsley Building Society Brass Band are pleased to have secured the services of Russell Gray as MD for the forthcoming Pontins contest, as well as next month's Bolsover Entertainment Contest.

Russell had done a fair amount of concert and rehearsal work with the band over the sumer and players were keen to continue the association into the serious business of the Autumn contests.

The former MD of the Band of the Royal Artillery has become well established on the Yorkshire circuit in recent years, conducting Stannington and Kippax and most notably winning the 2nd Section "Area" with Wakefield Metropolitan in 2007.

I played under Russel at Wakey a few years ago and he is a superb musician... Best of luck to all concerned.!
