The Gresley Old Hall Junior Band were very happy to recive a grant from the Derbyshire Community Award For All Scheme.
Theb money will be used for new instruments, music and a joint concert with another youth band from the local area in the coming months.
Musical Director of Gresley Juniors Fay Bayliss was delighted with the news and said that the Juniors deserve the recognition for their ever improving standard that they have shown during the last 3 years of being formed from a group of 10 to now a membership of 21.
They are now attracting boys&girls from other schools as well to come and play with them on Thursday Evenigs at Gresley Old Hall.
A lot of hard work by senior members has gone into getting Gresley Juniors up and running to the standard they are at now.
They perform at concerts with the senior band and always put on a fine display.

Ian, would you be prepared to say how much they got? If it's not for public disclosure send me a pm. Reason for interest is that we are just preparing a grant application to get Killamarsh Training Band some equipment - 3/4 size basses etc that we don't have from main band stock.
