Graduate TA Position at Univ. of Kansas

    Contingent of funding, there is an opening for a Graduate Teaching Assistant Position in Euphonium at the University of Kansas School of Music. This position pays a stipend of $5,000 a year and the student receives half off tuition. Duties are to perform with the KU Wind Ensemble which records on Naxos Records, and teach non-major euphonium and assist with low brass ensembles and studio classes.

    Graduate study will be with Professor Scott Watson, Principal BBb Tuba with the Fountain City Brass Band, Director of Brass & Percussion, Besson Artist and former President of ITEA.

    Any interested candidates should contact Prof. Watson as soon as possible at For overseas candidates, a CD or Mp3 audition should be possible. The School of Music offers both the Masters of Music and the Doctor of Musical Arts in Euphonium at the graduate level.

    The KU School of Music is a school of some 500 music majors and of 60 faculty with a very strong wind program located in Lawrence, Kansas, a vibrant college town of 80,000 located 40 miles west of Kansas City.
