Belgian conductor Frans Violet has resigned from his position as conductor of Dutch band "Brass Band Limburg" (BBL), for personal reasons. BBL is a championship section brass band from the South-East of the Netherlands, the only one in the Province of Limburg. He had been their conductor since 2002, when he replaced another Belgian conductor, Benny Wiame.

And Belgian conductors are popular in BBL, because until a new permanent conductor has been found, the rehearsals and concerts are temporarily being lead by Bert Van Thienen (soprano cornet of Brass Band Willebroek and trumpet player in the Royal Wind Band of the Belgian Guides), at least until the end of March, when the band will celebrate its silver jubilee.

Frans Violet will still be conducting the current European champions, Brass Band Willebroek and its youth band, Young Willebroek.
