After their debut release which I referred to on these boards a while back (Jazzi Metal - an album of contemporary Portuguese brass music). The Royal Scottish Academy Brass look to have another release in complete musical contrast either in the pipeline or possibly already released, entitled 'Tongue 'n' Groove'. Tracks ranging from Stephen Roberts' arrangement of Pastime With Good Company, to Jim Parker's A Londoner In New York and ending up with a Beach Boys Medley! Sounds like it's worth getting! Whereas their last release was on the Deux Elles label, this one appears to be on the RSAMDs own label.

As long as it does not contain their now legendary performance of 'God save the Queen' at the European...I may consider a purchase!

They were called upon to play for the awards presentation in Glasgow, with some rather lack-lustre fanfares and a very peculiar harmonisation of The Queen. Bad enough having to come on cold without having to play dodgy music as well.

Felt sorry for them as they had been first class at the Academy the previous day, sharing the platform with Steven Mead. They're also due to visit China shortly.
