    FOREST OF DEAN YOUNG MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR

    ADJUDICATOR: MR. MARIO CONWAY MA, BMus (Hons), LTCL

    SATURDAY 2 OCTOBER 2010, BAPTIST CHURCH, COLEFORD, GLOS


    Forest of Dean Junior Young Musician – Grade 5+
    Open to brass, string and woodwind instrumentalists aged 11 - 15 who are grade 5 standard or above on the instrument on which they will be competing. A contrasting programme of not more than 12 minutes duration is to be performed.

    Forest of Dean Senior Young Musician – Grade 8+
    Open to brass, string and woodwind instrumentalists aged 16 – 21 who are grade 8 standard or above on the instrument on which they will be competing. A contrasting programme of not more than 15 minutes duration is to be performed.


    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
    * Competitors must provide their own accompanist. Assistance in sourcing a local pianist can be provided by contacting the organisers.
    * A maximum of 10 competitors per class will be accepted. Entries are accepted in order of receipt.
    * Competitors MUST submit their programme on the official entry form prior to the closing date. Incomplete entries will not be accepted. At least two pieces must be performed.
    * Competitors do not need to have taken the appropriate graded examination for their class but must be performing at the required level. A copy of the relevant graded examination certificate or a letter of recommendation from the competitor’s instrumental teacher must be submitted with the entry form and payment.
