Like what exactly? I haven't had any problems with my york bass? I've heard on the grapevine they make good flower pots
In that case have you taken it up directly with your supplier or York themselves? It amazing how much progress you get if you ask a few questions to the right people....
foxmdm1 - are you a disgruntled customer, a former employee, or just someone with a grudge against York? To create an anonymous ID just to slag off a manufacturer, without giving any details of your problem(s), is hardly the way to elicit support for your grievance.
If you actually tell us what the problem is your experiencing like I have done twice maybe somebody on here can help, just on ranting on "york are rubbish" is not helpful to anyone who wants to help or who may have experince similar problems. We bought a full set of basses, tenor horns and cornets, not a euph but we had a few teething problems but have been delt with. I just give up sometimes!!
OK, so what are the problems with York Eminence Euphoniums? Notice you said, 'euphs I've seen'. Isn't that like judging a book by it's cover? Did you try playing one before you condemned it? Trouble is Ian, some people like to have a moan and a rant, rather than trying to sort out any problems or grievances they may have.
The question i first asked was has anybody had any problems with the york euphoniums? I was interestted in other peoples experiences with york
but then you said they are awful, why are they awful? t then you said they cannot make a good quality euphonium? whats up with the quality of the euphonium you had? then we might get a decent discussion going or other peoples experiences??
I know - which was the reason for my post. So then foxmdm1 - a direct question: I am not a euphonium player - I wouldn't know a good one from the oversized flowerpot you suggest York instruments are only good for, so exactly why are they 'awful'? Have you owned one / played one or is you that you've 'seen' them and they offend you for some reason (its a euphonium - they all look the same to me!)? Give us some reasons why you've started this thread and the other one - your only posts to date, because right now it looks like you are simply trying to stir things up for no reason.
I have tryed several and all have had a buzzing noise when played, build quailty poor, valves poorly made. They are just not made right in my opinion
Two possible problems: 1) You're not putting the mouthpiece on your lips. This would explain the buzzing. 2) Wasp in the instrument. Thank you.
Or it could be a bee. If I thought this was a serious attempt to stimulate a debate about the merits or demerits of York euphoniums, I might add something sensible. As it is, I'm off to get the 'f' out of my 'solo horn'. But there is no 'f' in 'solo horn'! b****r, we need another dep...
I know my dad has got a york Eb bass and the valves are awfull on it really sluggish hes had it for about 2 years now and are still sluggish
