[imgleft]http://www.themouthpiece.com/images/Graeme.jpg[/imgleft] Saturday 31st of March was a rather sad occasion for the Wingates Band, as we said a fond farewell to our secretary and EEb bass player Graeme Hall. Over the past 3-4 years, Graeme has made a massive contribution to the fortunes of Wingates Band in a diversity of ways, and, without doubt his terrific input and energy will be greatly missed.

The great work Graeme has done on behalf of Wingates has not gone unnoticed elsewhere in British banding circles, and this has led to him receiving an invitation to become band secretary of arguably the most famous band in the world….Black Dyke. Reluctant though he was to leave his beloved Wingates, this invitation represented a major dilemma for Graeme, as he felt such a terrific opportunity might never present itself again. Accordingly, he has decided to take up what he admits will be a major personal challenge.

Whilst desperately sorry to see him go, Graeme leaves with our very best wishes for continued success with the world famous Queensbury - based band, and we would like to express our sincere thanks to him for all his contributions to the Wingates cause.
Without doubt, Wingates’ loss is Black Dyke’s gain, but we hope to keep in close contact with Graeme, and who knows, one day we may well have the great pleasure of welcoming him back into the Wingates fold.

A fond farewell, and thank you!
