Les Webb has accepted the Musical Director position at Marple Band after taking two concerts and rehearsing the band last December. The player’s have been delighted to welcome Les to the band and he has settled in very quickly both musically and socially. Les has played in a number of top bands and will continue as Principal Trombone with the Fairey Band.

Originally from south London, moving “up north” to study at the RNCM and MMU. He currently works as a brass teacher in the Oldham area. His conducting career started on 2005 with a five year spell at the forth section band, Eccles Borough. Guiding them through a number of contest wins and promotion to the third section. Les also tutors and conducts at Stockport Schools Band developing the players of tomorrow.

The band is looking forward to working with such a high calibre musician.

The Band are seeking a solo cornet player. See our website for further details.
